Children are at the heart of everything we do. Their questions, theories and ideas inspire rich learning experiences that are strengthened through genuine partnerships with families and our wider community. Guided by the principles of the Reggio Emilia Educational Project, our Exceeding-rated Kindergarten embraces nature as a powerful teacher, creating opportunities for children to build confidence, creativity, compassion and a deep connection to the world around them.

Programs

3 Year Old Kinder

Our 3YO Kindergarten program provides a nurturing and engaging introduction to early learning, where children are supported to build confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging. Through play, inquiry and meaningful relationships, children develop social skills, curiosity and a love of learning.

4 Year Old Kinder

Our 4YO Kindergarten program builds on children’s strengths, interests and ideas as they prepare for their next stage of learning. With a strong focus on inquiry, collaboration, independence and emotional wellbeing, children are supported to grow as capable, confident and connected learners.

M.A.G.I.C.

Our M.A.G.I.C. program brings children from across the preschool together for shared learning experiences that foster friendship, connection and peer learning. Through mixed-age interactions, children have opportunities to collaborate, support one another and develop a deeper sense of community.

Nature Kinder

Our Nature Kinder program gives children regular opportunities to explore, investigate and connect with the natural environment. Through hands-on outdoor learning, children build resilience, curiosity, confidence and respect for the world around them.

Our Philosophy

Waverley Meadows Preschool is committed to child-centred pedagogy that is informed by the Reggio Emilia Approach© to early childhood education. We value the influence of our connection to nature in children’s learning and promote an appreciation of the outdoor environment.

Why choose us?

Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program

Children actively participate in our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program, where they plant, harvest, prepare and share fresh produce. Through hands-on experiences, children develop practical life skills, healthy eating habits and an appreciation for where food comes from, while fostering confidence, collaboration and a sense of responsibility.

Seeing Eye Dogs Australia Puppy Caring Program

As an official puppy caring kindergarten for Seeing Eye Dogs Australia, children experience the unique opportunity to help care for future Seeing Eye Dogs. Through daily interactions with our puppies, children develop empathy, compassion and respect while learning about inclusion, responsibility and the important role assistance dogs play in supporting people who are blind or have low vision.

Nature is our

classroom

From weekly Nature Kindergarten sessions to caring for our chickens, exploring our gardens and connecting with the changing seasons, children develop resilience, curiosity and a deep appreciation for the natural world. Outdoor learning is an essential part of every child's experience at Waverley Meadows Preschool.
